Despite rising property prices, there are still rental bargains to be had, even in the most popular western areas of Grand Cayman. Here is a small selection of what’s currently available.

With the average house price in the Cayman Islands set to top the US$1 million mark in 2021, there is a high demand for affordable Cayman residential rental options as the global pandemic eases and overseas workers and temporary residents plan their return.

Analysis of the rental market in early 2021 by the Cayman Compass shows the median asking price for rent remains relatively unchanged since the pre-pandemic at just over US$2,000 a month. Here are four prime examples of property to rent in Grand Cayman that represent this price point:

#1 West Bay One-Bedroom Duplex:

This recently refurbished half-duplex detached property at the junction of Crystal Valley Crescent and Jade Drive in West Bay sits on a large lot with plenty of privacy and is available for long-term rent. The asking price is reduced to CI$1,700 (US$1 = CI$0.82) per month plus utilities. The home has one bedroom, one bathroom, new furnishings, modern appliances, and plenty of parking. Suitable for a maximum of two people.

#2 End of Seven Studio:

Part of an oceanfront complex of just five beachside units on N.W. Point Road at the north end of the Seven Mile Corridor, this charming and private property has a large oceanfront entertaining space, high-end appliances and fittings, a pool, a patio, and public beach access. It is available for CI$1,850 per month plus utilities. It is suitable for a single professional, possibly with a pet, but no children.

#3 West Bay Corner Condo:

This recently renovated one-bed, two-bath condo end unit with tons of natural light comes completely furnished with modern furniture and appliances and a private side yard at CI$2,000 per month. The condo is part of Crescent Palms, a West Bay complex near the 4-way stop of Captain Allis Road and Boltins Avenue and a seven-minute walk to West Bay Beach. The complex boasts a pool and BBQ area, internet, and is pet-friendly. All tenants/owners are working professionals.

#4 George Town 2-Bed, 2-Bath:

This newly renovated apartment with a garden view is part of a complex of only six units on Keturah Street, off Walkers Road in George Town, and is available for CI$2,000 per month. It is close to schools and hospitals and is within easy walking distance of George Town. No pets.
